Hello my family

So life in Vegas is really good right now.  We had such a great time with dad over the last week.  He was so patient and helped us so much.  His visit worked out perfect because it was a very busy week for me and Melissa and so Dad ended up running errands and carpools.  We couldn’t have done it without him. Saturday was the best as the four of us (Roderick, Melissa, Dad and I) went to the movie and saw the Hunger Games.  It was really good.  Roderick liked it because it was the first movie he had ever seen where he had read the book first.  He was so cute sitting next to Melissa and explaining who all the people were and what district they had come from.  His favorite tribute was Rue (won’t go any further as I don’t want to ruin the movie for those of you who haven’t read it or seen the movie yet)…….

Work is great – I am learning a ton and really enjoying my new boss.  Things have really changed around Boys Town Nevada – this is one of those instances where change is super hard but in the end turns out to be a good thing.

Roderick is almost done with school.  Thank goodness!!!! He is having surgery on his knee this Wednesday.  He has had consistent pain in his knee since his last football game.  At times we thought it had healed up but if he pushed too hard, it would hurt again….. After multiple Dr. Appointments and second opinions they have determined he has build up on his tendon’s around his knee which is causing the pain.  He goes in on Wednesday where they will blast the build-up with a laser.  (No cutting – just shaving)  He will be on crutches for two days and then should be good to go.  We shall see – he is excited to sit on the couch and do nothing for two days……I may need the same surgery J.

Melissa is good.  Her principal loves her right now so she is in a good phase.
