bill and rosi mathews

Hello Children and Grandchildren!

I had planned to call you all today and visit for a few minutes.  However, I have come down with a nasty cold/sorethroat/etc and just don't feel like talking.

I hope all is well with each of you.  We sure enjoyed having Deb and family, Bec and family, Mar and family, Luke and family with us for Christmas.  It was awesome.  Thanks to you guys for making the effort to come and spend time together.  We missed not getting to see Ben and Tim and their families.  However, most of you sent pix (which are currently taped on the fridge) so we did, in a sense, get to see you all!!

Some of the "moments to remember" included:

 The birth of baby Parker.  She is truly beautiful...tiny, dainty, and such a good baby.  Luke, Amy, Tyler, Emm and Quinc love her like crazy.  She timed her entrance into mortality perfectly.  What a smart little girl!

Our nightmare trip to temple square on Dec. 23rd.   We lost Emma and her Matkin grandpa and grandma.  It wouldn't have been a problem except that we weren't certain if Emma was with them or lost on her own.  We spent over an hour walking through hoards of people searching for her.  (It is the most people I have ever seen there.  We literally had to fight our way through certain areas.)  In the end, Nick saved the day and found her and her Matkin grandparents and all was well.  I had security searching for her;

Adam with some help from Nick selected, went to the store and purchased and then hung faux wooden blinds and curtain rods over our basement windows.  They look so pretty and it is considerably warmer down there now;

new TV set in my armoire (bedroom) thanks to Luke for installing it for me;

Petal, our new kitty which Becky is sharing with us.

Getting better acquainted with Roderick or Rod or Rick or Richard.  He has such a cute personality and I even kissed him on the check a couple of times.  He brings a brand new dimension to our family which is really fun.  Tim and Jill, you would be happy to know that he helped Grandma out in the kitchen several times and we even got him to play hand and foot with us.

A good telephone visit with Ben and Family over the phone.  His kiddies are sounding so mature and are clearly growing up.  Also the news that their branch is now a ward.

Thank you all for the lovely Christmas gifts!  Dad and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I know there is more, but will stop here as you are going to get tired of reading.

Have a wonderful new year.  Know that we love you and appreciate the good people that you are.

Love,

Mom
